NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Athletics will once again be sponsoring the NCAA's "Take a Kid to the Game" (TAKG) promotion. Children ages 14 and younger will receive free admission to the Ladyjacks' game against Texas State Thursday, Jan. 25, and the 'Jacks' game versus Texas-Arlington Saturday, Jan. 27.
Stephen F. Austin is one of several institutions across the nation this season that is promoting the TAKG program. TAKG is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation's youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.
"We are pleased to extend the invitation to the community as we invite adults to bring children to experience a collegiate athletic event," said Jeremy Stolfa, Coordinator of Operations at Stephen F. Austin. "It is our hope that there will be a record turn out as more and more children are able to take advantage of this truly memorable experience and worth-while program. SFA is excited about the intense basketball action that you will have a chance to be apart of!"
Along with free admission to the game, there will be free popcorn and hot dogs will only cost $1. Children can also have their faces painted by the SFA Cheerleaders.
Tickets for the game become available the week of the game and can be purchased through the SFA ticket office at 468-JACK.
