
Ladyjack Volleyball Defeats Corpus Christi, 3-0

CORPUS CHRISTI - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks took their second conference win of the season and extended their win streak to six matches after defeating the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders, 3-0 (30-22, 30-21, 30-19), Saturday afternoon. The victory sends SFA's season record to 11-3 and its Southland Conference record to 2-0, while the Islanders fall to 0-2 in league play and 1-11 overall.
Junior Traci Rohde led both squads with 14 kills and only three errors for a .407 hitting percentage. She also posted four total blocks in the match to total 14 blocks in two matches.
Three Ladyjacks posted double-digit digs, with junior Jami Hill leading the way with 15. Senior Stephanie Figgers and sophomore Lauren Railey posted 11 and 10, respectively. Junior JJ Jones dished out 31 assists.
SFA will return home to open its home conference schedule next weekend against two of the top teams in the league in Texas-Arlington and Texas State. UTA will come to town, Friday and will face off with SFA at 7 p.m. On Saturday the Ladyjacks will host the Bobcats in a 4 p.m. match. Both matches will be played at the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
