Farris Named Athlete of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Marc Farris has been named Southland Conference Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Farris' selection is the first by an SFA cross country athlete this season.
The Lumberjack senior earned the weekly honor for his efforts over the weekend at the Indiana Intercollegiate. Farris posted a first-place finish in the men's open division race with a time of 25:44.7 on the 8,000-meter course. His performance led a team effort that saw all eight SFA runners finish in the Top 11. The Lumberjacks were making the first of what they hope will be three trips this season to the Terre Haute, Ind., course that hosts the NCAA cross country championships.
The SFA cross country teams will be back in action Saturday, Sept. 30, at the Auburn Invitational in Auburn, Ala.
