FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin sophomore forward Amanda Alders has been named Southland Conference Soccer Offensive Player of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Alders' selection is the first by a Ladyjack player this season but marks her fifth career player of the week award.
The Colleyville, Texas, native scored two goals in SFA's 4-1 win over Houston last Friday to earn the honor. It was the fourth multi-goal game of Alders' career and moved her into second place on the team in points and goals scored this season. Alders has now scored three goals with one assist this year for seven total points.
The Ladyjacks (4-3-0) will return to action this weekend with a pair of games in Colorado. SFA is scheduled to meet Colorado College Friday at 4 p.m. and will play the Air Force Academy Sunday at 11 a.m.
