
'Jacks Open Six-Game Home Stand

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack baseball team will be looking to put an end to a seven-game losing streak Tuesday when it faces No. 19 (Baseball America Top 25 poll) Houston. The Lumberjacks enter the game with an 8-39 (.170) overall record and a 3-21 (.125) Southland Conference mark and are looking to put an end to a seven-game losing streak. The Cougars enter the week with a 31-16 (.660) overall record. Tuesday's game is slated to begin at 3 p.m. from Jaycees Field. SFA will be back on the diamond Saturday as they host Texas A&M-Corpus Christi in a two-game series. SFA will close out the series against the Islanders on Sunday afternoon. Both games against Texas A&M-Corpus Christi (20-27) will begin at 1 p.m. from Jaycees Field.
SFA vs. the Cougars: The Lumberjacks are 1-22 (.043) all-time against Houston, including an 0-1 record this season. SFA dropped an 8-1 decision against the Cougars in Houston back on Valentine's Day. The Lumberjacks' lone victory in the series came back during the 1990 season when SFA recorded a 4-3 victory against the Cougars.
On Deck: The 'Jacks will continue its six-game home stand when the Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Islanders come to town for a two-game series. Both Saturday and Sunday's games are slated to begin at 1 p.m., from Jaycees Field.
