Farris Named SLC Athlete of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Marc Farris has been named Southland Conference Cross Country Athlete of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Farris, a senior from Goliad, Texas, is making his second appearance of the season on the conference's list of weekly honorees.
Farris earned the accolade by performing well at Saturday's Auburn Invitational. Farris ran the 8,000-meter course in 23:59.29 to finish fifth individually. His effort led the Lumberjacks to the team championship in the meet, which included 21 schools.
The Lumberjacks will be back in action Oct. 14, when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind., for the Pre-NCAA Championships race.
