Cotton Named Goalkeeper of the Week

FRISCO, Texas - Stephen F. Austin's Jessica Cotton has been named the Southland Conference Soccer Goalkeeper of the Week, league officials announced Tuesday. Cotton's selection is the first for an SFA goalkeeper this season.
The sophomore defender started in net for SFA's 2-0 win over Sam Houston State last Wednesday. She was playing in place of Ladyjack goalkeepers Francesca Tierno and Crystin Pactor, both of whom were recovering from injury at the time. Cotton recorded five saves in the shutout victory.
The Ladyjacks will next take the field on Friday, when they travel to Lake Charles, La., to take on McNeese State in a 4 p.m. contest.
