
Ladyjacks Sweep Colonels

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team sailed to its 13th straight win on Friday the 13th with a 3-0 sweep of the Nicholls State Colonels. With scores of 30-11, 30-13, and 30-18, SFA sent its overall record to 17-3 and are now 6-0 in Southland Conference play. Nicholls fell to 7-14 on the year and 1-5 in league action.
Junior middle blocker Traci Rohde posted 15 kills on the night with no errors for a career-high .625 hitting percentage. She also had four total blocks, including one solo, in the match.
Sophomore Lauren Railey led both teams with 17 kills and also had 10 digs for her ninth double-double of the season. JJ Jones chipped in with 47 assists and Stephanie Figgers collected 18 digs.
As a team, SFA hit .411, a season-high, and held the opponent to a negative hitting percentage for the second straight match, with Nicholls State hitting a -.009.
The Ladyjacks return to the court Saturday at 4 p.m. when they host Southeastern Louisiana from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
