Monteau Named Athlete of the Week

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin distance runner Ashley Monteau was named Aeropostale Female Cross Country Student Athlete of the Week, Southland Conference officials announced Tuesday.
Monteau, a junior from Anahuac, Texas, earned the recognition for her performance over the weekend at the Rice Invitational. Monteau won the individual title at the meet, completing the 4,000-meter course in 14:24.09, 13 seconds ahead of the second-place runner. The Ladyjacks finished fourth as a team at the meet.
The Ladyjack cross country team has this weekend off and will compete at next weekend's Northwestern State Invitational, in Natchitoches, La. The SFA men's team will travel to Raleigh, NC, this weekend to race in the Great American Cross Country Festival.
