Michalezki, Alders Named Players of Week

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Two Stephen F. Austin Ladyjacks were named to the Aeropostale Soccer Student Athlete of the Week list, Southland Conference officials announced Tuesday. Freshman Amanda Alders earned the first player of the week nod of her career as Offensive Player of the Week, and Natascia Michalezki was named Goalkeeper of the Week for the third time this season.
Michalezki started both matches and recorded 10 saves in SFA's shutout wins over Louisiana Tech and The Citadel at the inaugural Ladyjack Soccer Classic. The senior goalkeeper has now compiled 42 saves and a 5-3 record with four shutouts this season.
Alders scored four goals over the weekend -- one against Louisiana Tech and three against The Citadel -- and added an assist to earn offensive honors. With the big weekend, Alders moved into the team lead for both goals (4) and points (9).
The Ladyjacks (5-3) will return to action Wednesday with a home match against Grambling State. The contest is set to get under way at 7 p.m. at the SFA Intramural Complex. SFA will play a non-conference match against SLC foe Northwestern State Sunday in Natchitoches. That contest is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
