
SFA Concludes Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team finished off the Texas Relays Saturday afternoon with two events. Senior Jocelyn Stevens competed in the 400-meter hurdles and sophomore Sarah Emerson competed in the section `A' finals of the javelin only a day after winning the section `B' finals of the event.
Stevens finished eighth in the 400-meter finals with her time of 59.93. Stevens' time was only four-hundredths of a second off the school record, which Stevens set back during the 2003 season.
Emerson finished 10th in the section `A' finals of the javelin. She recorded a throw of 151-08.
SFA returns to action when it hosts the Dogwood Invitational. The meet is a three-day event that will begin Thursday at 10 a.m., with the heptathlon and decathlon. The track and field events will begin Saturday morning. The meet will take place at Fletcher Garner Track at Homer Bryce Stadium.
