
Track & Field Heads to Austin

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team returns to action Wednesday when they travel to Austin, Texas, to compete in the Texas Relays, which will be held at the Mike A Myers Stadium. The meet is a four-day event that will last through Saturday. The competition will begin Wednesday at noon with the decathlon. The heptathlon will get started approximately 30 minutes later.
SFA in the League: SFA has two athletes that are leading the league in their respective events. Junior Kenneth McKinley leads the Southland Conference with a throw of 54-2.50 in the shot put. Classmate Bo Simpson is tops in the decathlon with his score of 6,706 points. The Ladyjacks have recorded the league's top mark in five events to this point in the season. Senior Ana Rodriguez has the top mark in the 1,500 meters (4:35.30), classmate Jocelyn Stevens has the top mark in the 400-meter hurdles (1:00.96) and the high jump (5-7.00), sophomore Markeisha Edwards is leading the league in the shot put (47-6.50) and junior Crystal Chang has the SLC's top score in heptathlon (4,965 points).
Up Next ... SFA will return to action on Saturday April 16, when it hosts the Dogwood Invitational. The meet will take place at Fletcher Garner Track at Homer Bryce Stadium.
