Ladyjack Receives League Honor

PLANO, Texas - Senior Robin Houston (Shreveport, La.) was named Southland Conference Player of the Week announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. It is the team's first player of the week honor this season.
Houston guided the Ladyjacks to a 1-1 record over the weekend as SFA defeated Grambling State, 5-0, but lost to Louisiana Tech in a heart-breaker, 4-3. Houston was perfect in singles play going 2-0 at the No. 1 singles spot. She defeated the Lady Techsters' Saharai Uriarte, 6-4, 7-6, and followed that up by beating Grambling State's top player, Alexandra Gaspar, 6-3, 6-2.
Houston will lead SFA back on the court Thursday when the Ladyjacks host Sam Houston State in the SFA/SHSU Super Dual at the SFA Tennis Courts. The doubleheader against the Bearkats is set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
