Tierno Named Player of the Week

PLANO, Texas -- - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack freshman Fran Tierno was named to the Aeropostale Southland Conference Soccer Student Athlete of the Week list, league officials announced on Tuesday. This is the first time the rookie goalkeeper has earned the honor.
Tierno started and played all 90 minutes in SFA's season finale Friday, a 3-0 win at Louisiana-Monroe. She recorded four saves in the match.
The Ladyjacks wrapped up the Southland Conference championship wit h the win. Their next action will be this weekend at the conference tournament in Natchitoches, La. SFA is set to open play with a second-round match on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
