BATON ROUGE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field team wrapped up the LSU Bayou Bengal Invitational late Friday with more solid performances. Senior Jocelyn Stevens led the way for the Ladyjacks recording a second-place finish in the high jump when she cleared a height of 5-7.75. Junior Stevina Wyatt was second in her section of the women's 400-meter dash (56.81).
Senior DeVaughn Rettig paced the Lumberjacks finishing among the top five in both the long and triple jump. Rettig recorded a mark of 24-00.25 to finish fifth in the long jump. He was fourth in the triple jump with his mark of 47-8.00. The Lumberjacks placed two athletes in the top five of the pole vault as junior Mike Ludlow finished third clearing a height of 14-9.00, while teammate Geoffrey Carey was fifth clearing the same height, but lost on the tie breaker.
SFA returns to action Saturday Feb. 5, when they travel to Houston, Texas to compete in the Hyatt Regency Invitational.
