
SFA Open Track and Field Season in Houston

The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team will open the 2005 indoor track and field season Friday at the Leonard Hilton Memorial meet in Houston, Texas. SFA will be traveling 54 athletes to the Bill Yeoman Field House for the event. The field events get underway at 2 p.m., with the men's and women's weight throw. The track events will begin at 3 p.m., with the women's 5,000 meters.
The Returners The Ladyjacks return 12 athletes that received All-Southland Conference honors and three individual league champions. The Lumberjacks return eight athletes that have received all-conference honors and two athletes that have won SLC individual titles.
A Look Back ... Both the SFA men and women's teams recorded Southland Conference runner-up finishes during the indoor and outdoor track and field seasons last year.
Up Next ... The SFA men and women will return to action on Friday Jan. 28, when they travel to Baton Rouge, La., to compete in the Bayou Bengal Invitational.
