
SFA Volleyball Wins Two at ASU Tournament

JONESBORO, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season after shutting out Austin Peay, 3-0 (30-27, 30-28, 30-26), Friday morning and Jackson State, 3-0 (30-10, 30-15, 30-17), Friday afternoon in the first day of the Arkansas State Tournament. Senior Brittany Burton led SFA recording 26 kills (.377 attack percentage) in the two matches. Burton also tallied four digs and four blocks. Junior Lauren Stevens followed with 24 kills of her own. Sophomore Laura Cramer recorded 13 kills in the victory over the Lady Govs and finished the afternoon with 14 total kills. Freshman Traci Rohde led SFA with her 13 kills against Jackson State and finished with 20 in the two matches. Rohde also took team-high honors with seven kills Friday afternoon. The Ladyjacks were led defensively by sophomore Stephanie Figgers who recorded 31 digs (5.2 digs per game) in the double-header. The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday morning to face Arkansas-Little Rock at 9 a.m., before closing the tournament out with a 1 p.m., match against tournament-host Arkansas State. -SFA-
