BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team swept both games of its double-header Saturday afternoon to win the UAB Classic. The Ladyjacks are now 7-1 (.875) on the season.
Senior Brittany Burton led the way for SFA in the first match with her match-high 13 kills and three blocks and SFA routed the Lady Bulldogs, 3-0. The Ladyjacks had another solid defensive performance holding Alabama A&M to an .085 attack percentage.
Junior Lauren Stevens guided SFA to its seventh victory of the season when she carded 21 kills and nine digs. Murray State tied the match at 1 behind Kimberly Bunnage's 21 kills and 10 digs but it wasn't enough as SFA won the final two games for the victory.
