NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team cruised past Alabama-Birmingham, 3-0 (30-26, 30-25, 30-22), Friday night to improve to 5-1 (.833) on the season. The Ladyjacks have now won 18-of-their-last-21 matches dating back to last season.
SFA dominated the Blazers with defense recording 10 blocks and holding UAB to a .025 attack percentage. Senior Brittany Burton paced the Ladyjacks' attack with her match-high 11 kills and team-high three blocks. Junior Amelia Mayeaux added eight kills and classmate Lauren Stevens added seven kills.
Sophomore Lauren Adams led all players with 17 assists while, classmate Stephanie Figgers recorded a match-high 18 digs.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday to face Alabama A&M. The match against the Lady Bulldogs will begin at 4 p.m.
