Track & Field Heads to NCAA Championships

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team will send three athletes to Austin to compete in the NCAA Championships. The NCAA meet will begin Wednesday June 9th and go through Saturday June 12th.
The Lumberjacks will be sending seniors Mike Thom pson (3,000-meter steeplechase) and DeVaughn Rettig (triple jump), while the Ladyjacks will be represented by junior Ana Rodriguez (5,000-meters). Thompson and Rodriguez are the reigning Southland Conference Champions in their respective events, while Rettig was an All-SLC honoree in the triple jump.
The men's steeplechase will begin Wednesday at 9:10 p.m., while women's 5,000 meters gets under way 25 minutes later. The opening round of the triple jump will begin at 8:30 p.m., on Friday.
