
Ladyjack Earns National Honor

NACOGDOCHES - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack track and field athlete Blake Gordon was named first-team Academic All-District announced the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Thursday morning. The teams are comprised of athletes that have achieved sophomore status, are either a starter or important reserve and are maintaining at least a 3.20 grade-point average.
Gordon earned All-Southland Conference honors in both the discus and the shot put at the outdoor conference championships this season. Gordon was a three-time conference champion and an eight-time All-SLC honoree in her four seasons with the Ladyjacks. In 2003, Gordon finished 21st in the nation in the discus and led SFA to its first league track and field title. She was also named 2003 SLC Female Student-Athlete of the Year. Gordon is currently the school record-holder in the discus with her throw (170-2.00).
