
Burks Invited To Play In Showcase Event

NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- Former Lumberjack basketball player Antonio Burks has been invited the prestigious Heartland Invitational in Tulsa, Okla. May 6-8, 2004. The event will feature 64 on the top collegiate seniors in the nation to showcase their skills in front of pver 150 professional scouts and agents from the NBA, NBDL, CBA as well as professional leagues from all over the world.
Burks was a first team All-Southland Conference selection in 2004 after setting the SFA single season record with 78 three-point field goals to lead the 'Jacks in scoring. Burks averaged just over 15 points per game and finished fourth in the nation in three point field goal percentage, shooting just over 47 percent from beyond the arc for the year.
The 6-5 Texarkana, Ark. selection also was named the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Region team. He helped lead the Lumberjacks to a 21-win season and the Southland Conference tournament finals for the second straight year.
