NACOGDOCHES, Texas-- Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack basketball coach Danny Kaspar announced today the signing of Matt Kingsley to a letter of intent to play basketball and continue his education at the university next fall. Kingsley, a 6-8 center from Houston Cypress Creek High School will enroll at SFA in September.
"Matt has a lot of potential. He has a great touch and excellent moves around the basket. He has grown two-and-a-half inches in the past year and is really starting to come into his own. We signed a sleeper and I believe he will have a wonderful career at SFA," said Kaspar.
Kingsley earned first team all-district honors this past fall at Cypress Creek while averaging 18.2 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He also added 3.1 blocks per game and had 14 double-doubles on the year. Kingsley also posted a triple double earlier this year with 18-points, 13-rebounds and 12 blocked shots in a game.
