
SFA Track & Field Athletes Receive SLC Honor

PLANO, Texas - Senior Paul Todd (Marshall, Texas) and junior Jocelyn Stevens (Schertz, Texas) were named Southland Conference Athletes of the Week announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. It is the second honor of the season for Stevens and the first for Todd.
Todd was named SLC Male Athlete of the Week for winning the high jump at the Sam Houston State Invitational. Todd cleared a height of 6-10.75 for the title. His mark was also good enough to qualify for the NCAA Regional Championships.
Stevens won an event and set two NCAA Regional marks at the Sam Houston State Invitational. Stevens recorded a regional-qualifying time of 1:00.65 in the 400-meter hurdles to win the race. She also recorded an NCAA Regional standard in the high jump, clearing a height of 5-8.00.
SFA returns to action Saturday when they travel to San Marcos, Texas to compete in the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships.
