
Track & Field Wraps Up Texas Relays

AUSTIN, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field team completed competition in the Texas Relays Saturday afternoon. It was a successful weekend for SFA, walking away with one NCAA Regional Qualifier and one individual champion.
Friday evening senior Justin Meier led the Lumberjacks with his ninth-place finish in the 1,500 meters (3:52.49). Freshman Peter Harris recorded a time of 10.82 in the 100-meter dash. Freshman Reggie Lazenby clocked a time of 14.69 in preliminaries of the 110-meter hurdles to finish just ahead of teammate Alex Beckworth (14.93). Sophomore Chance Edwards recorded a third-place finish in section 'B' of the 1,500 meters. Edwards clocked a time of 3:54.67 in the race.
For the Ladyjacks junior Jocelyn Stevens recorded a time of 14.27 in the 100-meter hurdles, while freshman Leah Matthews crossed the finish line with a time of 14.65. Senior Blake Gordon recorded a throw of 148-07 in her opening flight of the discus.
SFA will return to action Saturday April 10th, when they travel to College Station, Texas, for the Texas A&M Invitational.
