SFA Falls Short At Texas-Arlington, 71-67

ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) - Derrick Obasohan scored 20 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Texas-Arlington to a 71-67 win over Stephen F. Austin on Saturday afternoon. The loss was the fourth straight for SFA on the road in SLC play, with all four losses by a total of nine points.
Texas-Arlington (11-11, 6-5 Southland) trailed 33-26 at halftime but improved to 61 percent in the second half on 14-of-23 shooting. Steven Thomas scored 14 points and Keith Howell added 13.
Marcus Clark scored 16 points to lead Stephen F. Austin (15-6, 6-4). Antonio Burks was the only other Lumberjack to score in double digits with 11 points.
SFA stretched its lead to as many as 13 points with just over 13 minutes to play in the game before UT-Arlington made three straight three point baskets and converted on a three point play to cut the lead to one. UTA was 5-7 on three point attempts in the second half of play which helped fuel the comeback.
UT-Arlington also went to the line 40 times in the game converting on 22 attempts while the Lumberjacks went 6-10 at the stripe.
SFA concludes a three game road trip Wednesday night against McNeese State, in Lake Charles, La.
