SFA Wins Exhibition With Midwestern State

NACOGDOCHES, Texas -- Marcus Clark scored a game high 18 points and paced four Lumberjacks in double figures as the 'Jacks handed Midwestern State a 73-60 loss in an exhibition game to start off the 2004-05 season.
SFA forced Midwestern State into 18 turnovers in the game, turning those miscues into 16 points. The 'Jacks outscored the Indians 16-4 on points off turnovers.
Clark finished the night with 18 points and was 3-3 on three pointers in the game. He also added a game high four assists and had two rebounds. Rivers came off the bench to score 15 points and also pulled down a game high 10 rebounds. Rivers has had double-doubles in his last three games dating back to last season's conference tournament.
Justin Thomas and Leonard Brown rounded out the 'Jacks in double figures with 10 points each.
SFA shot .458 from the field (27-59), but was only four of 15 from beyond the three point stripe (.267). Midwestern State ended the night shooting .409 (18-44) after shooting over 50 percent from the field in the first half. The 'Jacks held the Indians to only 6-22 (.273) after halftime in stretching their lead to as many as 18 points.
Midwestern State cut the lead back to only nine points with 2:48 left to play but SFA stretched the lead back to 15 points before winning, 73-60.
