Basketball Season To Open

North Texas third baseman Susan Waters went 2-for-3 with two home runs Tuesday afternoon to lead the Mean Green (2-10) past the SFA Ladyjacks (3-6) 8-5 in a non-conference match-up in Nacogdoches. Waters had three runs batted in for the Eagles to lead a North Texas attack that collected 14 hits off SFA pitching.
SFA outfielders Carrie Woydziak and Kristina Swart picked up two hits each as the Ladyjacks ended with five runs on seven hits off a pair of North Texas pitchers. Kristen Gabourie homered for the Ladyjacks, her second of the year.
