
Ladyjacks Outlast McNeese State

LAKE CHARLES, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team won its second-straight match with a 3-2 (28-30, 30-17, 27-30, 30-21, 15-11) victory over McNeese State Friday night in Lake Charles, La. The Ladyjacks are now 10-5 (.667) and 3-3 (.500) in Southland Conference action.
Senior Brittany Burton returned from an ankle injury to have one of her biggest nights of the season leading the team with 21 kills and a .432 attack percentage. Burton also added four blocks. Sophomore Laura Cramer followed up with 17 kills and four blocks as SFA recorded one of its best offensive nights of the year recording a .263 attack percentage.
Senior Deborah Kirkham added 13 kills and 11 digs. Sophomore Stephanie Figgers led SFA with 23 digs, while freshman JJ Jones led SFA with 62 assists.
The Ladyjacks will return to action Saturday evening when they travel to Beaumont, Texas, to face Lamar. The match against the Lady Cardinals is slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
