
Ladyjacks Shock Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team rolled into San Marcos, Texas, and pitched a shutout, 3-0 (30-28, 30-19, 30-26), over league-leading Texas State Thursday night. The Ladyjacks now move into a virtual tie for first-place in the league standings as both teams now have three conference setbacks. SFA is now 18-5 (.783) overall and 10-3 (.769) in SLC play.
Senior Brittany Burton led the Ladyjacks with another dominating performance as she recorded 17 kills on 36 attacks, with only five attack errors (.333 attack percentage). Junior Lauren Stevens added eight kills along with sophomore Laura Cramer, as the Ladyjacks put away Texas State relatively easily.
The Ladyjacks once again got the job done serving the ball, recording 13 service aces. Five different Ladyjacks recorded at least two service aces led by three from freshman Traci Rohde, sophomore Stephanie Figgers and senior Deborah Kirkham. Figgers and Kirkham also led SFA with 13 digs, each.
The Ladyjacks return to action Saturday when they travel to San Antonio, Texas to face UTSA. The match against the Roadrunners is slated to begin at 2 p.m., in the Convocation Center.
