SFA Distance Runner Receives SLC Honor

PLANO, Texas - Sophomore cross country runner Ashley Monteau was named Southland Conference Runner of the Week announced league officials Tuesday afternoon. It is the first such honor for the Ladyjacks this season.
Monteau recorded a time of 21:08.04 at the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., over the weekend. Monteau's time was good enough to place her 11th overall. The 2003 SLC individual runner-up posted the league's fastest 6,000-meter time of the season in Fayetteville.
The SFA men and women's teams return to action Monday Nov. 1, when they travel to Beaumont, Texas, to defend their league titles at the 2004 SLC Championships.
