
SFA Too Strong for Lady Indians

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team continues to roll as SFA shutout Louisiana-Monroe, 3-0 (30-16, 30-18, 30-15), Saturday afternoon at the William R. Johnson Coliseum. The Ladyjacks are now 14-5 (.737) overall and 6-3 (.667) in Southland Conference play.
The Ladyjacks took a big lead early in the game and never looked back. Junior Amelia Mayeaux led the charge to give SFA an early 1-0 advantage with her match-high 14 kills and four blocks. Freshman Traci Rohde also had a big day recording 10 kills (.348 attack percentage) and a match-high five service aces to give SFA a 2-0 lead heading into the intermission.
The Ladyjacks didn't surrender any of the momentum in the third game as SFA closed out the match with a 30-15 tally in the final game. Sophomore Stephanie Figgers led SFA with a match-high 19 digs as SFA recorded its season best six-match win streak.
The Ladyjacks return to action Tuesday when they travel to Huntsville, Texas to take on Sam Houston State. The match against the Bearkats is slated to get under way at 7 p.m., from the William R. Johnson Coliseum.
