MONROE, La. (AP) - Larry Parker knocked the basketball away from Marcus Clark as he tried to put up a shot at the buzzer, allowing the Indians to hang on for a 60-58 Southland Conference victory Thursday.
Louisiana-Monroe (7-12, 3-2 SLC) built a 10-point lead with 2:20 remaining, then had to hang on at the end after Clark hit three straight 3-pointers for Stephen F. Austin (11-4, 2-2). Louisiana-Monroe led 59-58 with 10 seconds left.
The Indians inbounded the basketball and Aaron Branch was fouled with six seconds left and hit the first of two free throws. After his miss on the second free throw, the Lumberjacks rebounded and pushed the ball up to Clark who had the basketball stripped away just before the final buzzer as he was trying to position himself for a shot.
Mark Keith led Louisiana-Monroe with 12 points and Brandon Horn added 11. Tank Thompson had 10.
Clark led the Lumberjacks with 17 points and Antonio Burks added 15.
