
SFA Heads to Texas A&M

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's cross country teams will travel to College Station, Texas Saturday to compete in the Texas A&M Cross Country Invitational. The meet will consist of 19 teams including meet-host Texas A&M, Rice (women), Abilene Christian, Texas-Arlington, Texas (men) Prairie View A&M, Southern Arkansas, Texas A&M-Commerce, Southern Methodist, Texas Christian, Texas State, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Tarleton State, St. Mary's (women), Texas A&M-Kingsville (women), Texas-San Antonio, Northwood, Sam Houston State and Lamar. The men's race is slated to begin at 8:30 a.m., while the women's race is scheduled to follow at 9 a.m.
Reloaded: The SFA men's and women's cross country teams return the heart of their rosters from last year's SLC title run. The Lumberjacks return three of four All-Southland Conference runners, including 2002 SLC Male Athlete of the Year Nathan Flores. The Ladyjacks return both of their All-SLC runners from a year ago, including 2002 SLC Female Athlete of the Year Ana Rodriguez.
Up Next... SFA will take a week off before traveling to Stillwater, Okla., for the Cowboy Jamboree. The meet will be held Saturday Oct. 4th.
