Ladyjacks Fall to Southeastern Louisiana

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team lost to Southeastern Louisiana, 5-2, Sunday afternoon. The Ladyjacks are now 4-13 (.235) on the season.
The Lady Lions grabbed a 2-0 lead after winning the doubles point and picking up a win at No. 1 singles. But Emily Voss put SFA on the scoreboard with her 6-4, 1-6 (11-9) victory at No. 2 singles. The Ladyjacks tied the match at 2 when Melissa Bass defeated Southeastern Louisiana's Vanessa Wong, 6-3, 3-6 (12-10) at No. 6 singles. The Lady Lions rallied to win the final three singles matches for the victory.
On Saturday, the Ladyjacks defeated Nicholls State, 6-1. SFA swept the three doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead. The Lady Colonels tied the match at 1 with their victory at No. 1 singles, but Voss gave the Ladyjacks the lead for good with her 6-1, 6-0, victory over Nicholls State's Dorian Robichaux. Gennan Houston and Sandra Wolfe followed up with victories at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively. Other Ladyjacks recording singles wins Saturday were Megan Langston at No. 5 singles and Melissa Bass at No. 6 singles.
The Ladyjacks return to action Thursday when they travel to Huntsville, Texas for the season finale against Sam Houston State. The match is slated to begin at 2 p.m.
