
Track & Field Competes at the Houston Indoors

HOUSTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's indoor track and field team competed at the Houston Indoor Invitational Saturday. The SFA distance squads had a strong showing, bringing home two individual titles.
Ana Rodriguez won the women's 3,000-meter individual title with her time of 10:03.96. The time set a new SFA record in the event. She crossed the finish line almost three seconds ahead of the second-place finisher. Justin Meier was the men's one-mile individual champion with his time of 4:15.51. Bryan Williams was only three seconds off Meier's pace finishing third overall in the one mile.
Jessica Claiborne recorded a third-place finish in the triple jump. She finished the meet with a jump of 40-5.00. Amlesom Teklai was fifth in the 5,000-meter run with his time of 15:32.83. The Lumberjacks 4X400-meter relay team recorded a third-place finish, crossing the line with a time of 10:24.26.
The SFA men and women's track and field team will return to action Saturday Feb. 15th, at the Runsport All-Comers meet in Houston, Texas.
