
Ladyjacks Finish Second at League Championships

HOUSTON, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack track and field team finished second to Southwest Texas at the Southland Conference Indoor Championships Saturday. SFA fell to the Bobcats by five, 110-105. The Lumberjacks scored 48 points to finish sixth at the championships. Southwest Texas scored 137 points to win the team title.
The Ladyjacks were led by Ana Rodriguez who won her second individual title at the championships. She recorded a time of 10:09.40 in the 3,000 meters for the title. Senior Bratania Morris closed out her collegiate career with a all-conference finish in the 200 meters. She recorded a time of 24.90 to finish second. Jennifer Schreiner cleared a height of 11-5.75 in the pole vault to finish second. Sophomore Shametra Boykins recorded a third-place finish in the triple jump with her mark of 40-3.25.
The Lumberjacks were led Justin Meier Saturday. He recorded the individual title in the 3,000-meter run with his time of 8:33.72. He followed that up with an All-Southland Conference finish in the the one mile run with is time of 4:13.80.
