Banks Leads Lumberjacks past SE Louisiana, 67-51

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (AP) - B.J. Banks scored 18 points as Stephen F. Austin beat Southeastern Louisiana 67-51 on Saturday, for its 10th straight home victory.
Percy Green added 16 points for the Lumberjacks (16-5, 12-2 Southland). Stevin Ozier grabbed seven rebounds.
Marcus Smith led the Lions (8-14, 6-9) with 10 points.
SFA never trailed in the game with Southeastern Louisiana only tying the score at 5-5 in the early going. After the 5-5 tie, SFA went on a 6-0 run to stretch the lead to 11-5 and was never really threatened again.
The Lumberjacks took a 30-25 lead into the dressing room at halftime after shooting .632 from the field in the first half. THe 'Jacks quickly stretched the lead to 10 points in the second half while continuing to shoot well from the field. SFA ended the night shooting .578 from the field (26-45), while holding Southeastern Louisiana to shoot only .391 from the floor (18-46). The 'Jacks also outrebounded the Lions by a 30-22 margin, with both Stevin Ozier and Jasen Gast leading the way with seven rebounds each.
SFA travels to Beaumont to take on Lamar Thursday night.
