SFA Sweeps SLC Cross Country Titles

The Stephen F. Austin Lumberjack cross country team won its third straight Southland Conference title Monday morning with a dominating performance at the SLC Championships at Raven's Nest Golf Course, in Huntsville. The women's team made it a second straight sweep for the university, with their second consecutive conference title about an hour following the men's race. Ana Rodrigez, a senior from Dallas, claimed her second straight individual conference title with the win.
Mike Thompson, a senior from Prince George, British Columbia claimed the individual title in leading the 'Jacks to the win, while last year's individual champion, Nathan Flores finished third overall for the 'Jacks. Both runners earn All-Conference honors with the top-five finishes.
The Ladyjacks went 1-2 in the women's race with Rodriguez winning the individual title followed by Ashley Monteau, a freshman from Anahuac, in second place.
