
Ladyjacks Shutout Louisiana-Monroe

MONROE, La. - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team defeated Louisiana-Monroe, 3-0 (30-27, 30-17, 30-23), Tuesday night to extend its win streak to six-straight matches. The Ladyjacks are now 18-12 on the season and 14-5 in Southland Conference play.
The first game of the match turned out to be a hard fought battle but SFA won it, 30-27. Freshman Laura Cramer led the Ladyjacks with her 10 kills (.412 attack percentage). SFA held the momentum and steamrolled the Lady Indians, 30-17, in the second game. Junior Brittany Burton added nine kills and four blocks as SFA went into the locker room up, 2-0.
The Lady Indians kept things close in the third game but SFA was able to hold off the charge with solid defense, recording 16 blocks on the night. SFA won game three, 30-23. Sophomore Amelia Mayeaux recorded eight kills and tied Burton with a team-high four blocks.
The Ladyjacks close out the regular season Friday at Sam Houston State. The match against the Bearkats is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m., in the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum.
