
Ladyjacks Face Duke in Field of 64

INDIANAPOLIS - The 2003 Southland Conference tournament champion Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack soccer team will be in College Station, Texas, Friday to face 12th-seeded Duke announced the NCAA Monday afternoon.
"Obviously, we're ecstatic about advancing to the NCAA tournament," said SFA head coach Nicole Nelson. "This team made history this season by becoming the first team in school history to advance to the tournament. We are very excited. Duke will be the toughest opponent we've had this year. We are going to go through our regular preparation for them. We have a very confident and composed group of young ladies, and we're going to go there and give it everything we have."
If the Ladyjacks defeat Duke, they will face the winner of the Texas A&M/Southern Methodist game. Game time for the first round match-up with Duke has been set for Friday, at 5:00 p.m.. The second round game is set for Sunday at 1:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased from the Texas A&M ticket office at (888) 99-AGGIE or (979) 845-2311. Prices for an all-session pass range from $11 - $14 and from $7 - $8 for a single session. Student and senior citizen general admission tickets are $2 and children general admission (ages five and under) are $1.
The Ladyjacks received an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships after defeating Southeastern Louisiana, 1-0, in the Southland Conference Championship game. It is the first trip to the NCAA Championships for the Ladyjacks. SFA finished the season with a 15-4-2 overall record.
