Ladyjacks Fall at Texas State

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack volleyball team was shutout by Texas State Thursday night, 3-0 (30-21, 30-25, 30-24). The Ladyjacks are now 6-11 (.353) on the season and 2-4 (.333) in Southland Conference play.
The Bobcats took the first game, 30-21, behind strong offensive play, recording a team .288 attack percentage, while holding the Ladyjacks to only a .085 percentage. The Bobcats were led by Amy Amundson's 15 kills (.458 attack percentage). SFA tried to bounce back in game two, but fell short, 30-25. The Ladyjacks were led by junior Brittany Burton's 15 kills and three blocks. The Bobcats won the final game, 30-24, to ice the match.
Sophomore Amelia Mayeaux added seven kills (.294 attack percentage). Freshman Lauren Adams led the Ladyjacks with 22 assists, while classmate Stephanie Figgers recorded a team-high 10 digs.
The Ladyjacks will look to get back on the winning track Saturday when they travel to San Antonio, Texas, to take on the Roadrunners. The match will begin at 2 p.m., in the Convocation Center.
