
SFA Cross Country Finishes 11th

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's cross country team's recorded 11th-place finishes at the Chili Pepper Invitational in Fayetteville, Ark., Saturday afternoon. The Lumberjacks scored 348 points in the 33-team field while the Ladyjacks scored 298 points in a 37-team field.
Senior Nathan Flores led the Lumberjacks in his first race of the season with a ninth-place finish. He crossed the finish line with a time of 30:09.46. Sophomore Julian Acuna was the second Lumberjack to cross the finish line with his time of 30:53.74. Acuna's time was good enough for 33rd place. Matt Albertson recorded a time of 32:09.17 to finish 86th overall. Haile Teklai was the fourth Lumberjack to cross the finish line with a time of 32:35.50. Teklai finished 105th overall. The fifth Lumberjack to cross the line was Clifton Tierney, who finished with a time of 32:47.44.
Ana Rodriguez was the top Ladyjack Saturday in Arkansas as she finished fourth overall with a time of 21:04.49. Freshman Ashley Monteau was the second Ladyjack to finish with her time of 21:55.88. Monteau was 30th overall. The third Ladyjack to cross the finish line was junior Jessica Partin, who recorded a time of 22:50.34 to finish 75th overall. Freshman Julie Kole was the fourth Ladyjack to finish with her time of 23:06.76. Kole was 94th overall. Classmate Kimbri Lettkeman was the final scorer for SFA with her time of 23:29.46. She finished 119th overall.
The SFA cross country teams return to action Nov. 3rd at the Southland Conference Championships. The meet will take place in Huntsville, Texas.
