Cross Country Teams Open at ULM

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's cross country teams kick off the 2002 season Friday at the ULM Invite in Monroe, La. The Ladyjacks race is a two-mile race that is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. The Lumberjacks are scheduled to get underway at 6:30 p.m. The men will run a four-mile course. Both races will be held at the Pine Hill Country Club.
The Lumberjacks start the defense of their 2001 Southland Conference title. SFA returns three All-SLC runners, including Nathan Flores (Kingwood, Texas), Justin Meier (Lorena, Texas) and Amlesom Teklai (Alexandria, Va.). The Ladyjacks return six runners from last year's squad, including 2001 All-SLC honoree Ana Rodriguez (Dallas, Texas).
The SFA cross country teams will return to action Friday Sept. 20th, at the SHSU Invite Huntsville, Texas.
