SFA Athletes Earn Academic Honors

PLANO, Texas - Seniors Adam Keul (Tyler, Texas), Misty Ballard-Swan (Carlsbad, N.M.) and junior Blake Gordon (Gladewater, Texas) were named Academic All-SLC announced the league Tuesday.
Keul was a two-time pole vault All-American in 2002 winning the SLC Outdoor title and finishing in a three-way for the league title during the indoor season. Keul is also a 2002 Verizon third-team Academic All-America selection.
Ballard-Swan is a 2002 Verizon first-team Academic All-American, who earned all-conference honors in the pole vault during the indoor season. She was the SLC individual champion during the outdoor season, concluding the year with a 14th place finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships.
Gordon earned All-Southland Conference honors during the indoor season in the shot put. She placed third in the league with her toss of 48-5.25.
