
SFA Pole Vaulter Earns National Recognition

STAMFORD, Conn. - Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack pole vaulter Misty Ballard-Swan (Carlsbad, N.M.) was named first-team Academic All-America Thursday announced the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Ballard-Swan was one of 16 athletes to earn first-team honors. Ballard-Swan finished her senior season May 29, with a 14th-place showing at the NCAA Championships in Baton Rouge, La. She was the Southland Conference outdoor individual champion and earned All-SLC honors during the indoor season.
It is the second consecutive season that Ballard-Swan has earned first-team Academic All-American honors.
