NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin men's and women's track and field teams will be represented by seniors Adam Keul (Tyler, Texas) and Misty Ballard-Swan (Carlsbad, N.M.) at the NCAA Championships in Baton Rouge, La. The NCAA Outdoor Championships will be held Wednesday May 29 through Sunday June 2.
Keul qualified for the NCAA meet with his vault of 18-2.50 at the Texas Relays. Keul is currently ranked second in the nation. Ballard-Swan cleared a height of 13-1.50 at the TCU Invitational, which earned her a spot at the National meet. She is currently tied for 16th in the nation.
"This is a very exciting time for both Adam and Misty," said SFA head coach Phil Olson. "They are both seniors and this is their last shot in the NCAA Championships. They are both excited but focused, and both are looking to go out on a positive note for SFA. They have represented themselves very well and have essentially put SFA track and field back on the map where coach Glen Sefcik had the program a few years back. We're glad they are back in the meet and hopefully competing for All-America honors or maybe even a National title."
Keul is a three-time All-America who earned his third honor at the 2002 NCAA Indoor meet. Ballard-Swan is also a former pole vault All-American.
