Lumberjack Receives League Honor

PLANO, Texas - Sophomore Nathan Flores (Kingwood, Texas) was named Southland Conference track and field athlete of the week for his performance at the Rice/Bayou Classic announced the league office Wednesday.
Flores set a new personal and school record in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, which he set a season ago, with his time of 9:06.56. The mark also places Flores at the top of the conference standings in the steeplechase. It is the second league honor for Flores this season. He was also named league runner of the week on Oct. 1 for his performance at the Auburn Invite.
The SFA track and field teams are competing at the Texas Relays Wednesday. The Texas Relays will run through Saturday.
