SFA Track and Field Heads to Austin

NACOGDOCHES - The Stephen F. Austin men and women's track and field teams will be in Austin, Texas, Wednesday through Saturday, at the Texas Relays. The Texas Relays will take place at Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
On the men's side, the meet will include teams from around the nation including nationally-ranked meet-host No. 15 (Trackwice.com Top 25 Poll) Texas, No. 2 Louisiana State, No. 4 Arkansas, No. 7 Kansas, No. 8 Nebraska, No. 12 George Mason, No. 12 Oklahoma, No. 12 Wisconsin, No. Texas Christian 14, No. 16 Mississippi State, No. 19 Brigham Young, No. 20 Idaho, No. 24 Minnesota, No. 25 Baylor, No. 25 Mississippi, No. 25 North Carolina and No. 25 Southern Methodist as well as all 10 Southland Conference opponents. The meet will also have some of the nation's top women's teams as well, including No. 15 Texas, No. 1 LSU, No. 7 North Carolina, No. 8 Auburn, No. 9 Indiana, No.12 Illinois, No. 14 Kansas State, No. 15 Rice, No. 18 Nebraska, No. 19 Oklahoma State, No. 19 Washington State and No. 24 Oregon as well as nine SLC foes. The events are slated to get underway at noon Wednesday with the decathlon's 100-meter dash. On Thursday, the meet will get started back at 11 a.m., with the decathlon's 110-meter hurdles. Friday's action will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the women's 4X100-meter relay. The final day of competition will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the men's long jump.
The SFA track and field teams will return to action Saturday April 13th, at the Texas A&M Invitational in College Station, Texas.
