
Ladyjacks Ousted by Sam Houston State

HUNTSVILLE, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin Ladyjack tennis team finished off the 2002 season against Sam Houston State Wednesday night in Huntsville, Texas. The Lady Kats beat SFA, 5-2. The Ladyjacks finish the 2002 season 7-10 (.412) overall and 3-7 (.300) in the Southland Conference.
The Ladyjacks were hurt in the doubles point as SHSU swept all three double matches taking an early 1-0 lead. The Lady Kats extended their lead to 3-0 with wins at Nos. 1 and 2 singles. SFA got on the scoreboard with consecutive wins by junior Sandra Wolfe (Englewood, Colo.) and freshman Robin Houston (Shreveport, La.) at Nos. 3 and 4 singles, respectively. Wolfe beat the Lady Kats Erika Rudich, 2-6, 6-1, 6-2 at No. 3 singles, while Houston beat Diala Ammar, 6-1, 2-6, 6-3, at the No. 4 spot. The Lady Kats clinched the win with their victory at No. 4 singles.
